Sanyhot People are committed with the environment, this is our main concern for which we want our adhesives to help build a better sustainable future.

Nowadays, sustainability is increasingly important for business and consumers, growing efforts to promote recycling while raising concerns about the effects of climate change and the danger of extinction of non-renewable energy sources as oil.

Sometimes, there are words and concepts that you have never heard them before, and suddenly you are hearing them all the time. For many people one of these new terms is biodegradable.

What do you know about biodegradable materials? Do you know the difference between biodegradable and sustainable?

Sanyhot committed to the environment

It is important to highlight the differences between the terms biodegradable and biocompostable:

All the compostable materials are biodegradable, but not all the biodegradables are compostables.

Biodegradability refers to a chemical process common in nature, while compostability is a human parameter. The key is the time it takes to complete both processes.

At European level there are harmonised standards that help us to understand and discern when a product is compostable. Standards such as EN13432, ISO 20200/ ASTM D6400-12 or ISO 14855, indicate conditions and characteristics of the materials to be considered biodegradable and/or compostable.
